Feather Correspondences

Feather Correspondences

In natural magic feathers are used in spells and ceremonies to promote
change. They are used as catalysts to help focus concentration while
carrying out spells and wishes.

The medicine bag, also called power pouch or sachet, often includes special
feathers which have meaning to the wearer and help attracting good luck as
well as driving away bad things.

Feathers are often used to focus concentration in spells.

Feathers are magically ruled by the element of air. This makes them good
communication helpers. But each feather also can hold other special powers;
depending on the bird it came from, its color and place of discovery and
other factors.

The knowledge what kind of feather is best used for what kind of indent can
only be found out for oneself by trial and error. A pigeon feather is not as
helpful for creating a defense strategy than a feather taken from a bird of
prey.

The general rule for future feather magicians is always to use self found
feathers rather than bought ones. A shop cannot substitute a walk in nature,
nor the joy when the wanted feather is finally found.

Feathers are often used to focus concentration in spells

Feathers used for magical undertakings are mainly determined by the energy
which is brought into the feather by the magician him/herself through
concentration and thought. Beside from the energy the magician brings into
the object, feathers hold certain natural abilities.

PEACOCK
Peacock Feathers were thought to be very unlucky, because they resemble an
eye. The eye shape represented the evil eye which people were afraid of.
Today the beauty and natural strength of the peacock feathers are again
recognized. They are specially valued for their multicolored eyes.

BLUE JAY BIRD
Blue Jay feathers are valued as bringer of light and joy and are said to
have the ability to brighten up even the darkest places.

CROW
The Crow is one of the animals humans have always been afraid of. A crow at
the window is said to represent the soul of a dead person. Crow feathers are
used for mourning and letting go of unwanted feelings or situations.

ROBIN
Robin feathers can help to bring new things into ones life. They can also be
used to induce fertility.

SWAN
The pure white feathers of swans are used to purify and cleanse by
attracting new energy. They represent beauty, grace and goodness. Black swan
feathers can be used to purify of unwanted energy.

NIGHTINGALE
This birds feathers are good communication feathers. They help to tap into
the deeper consciousness and can teach sacred wisdom.

HAWK
The feathers of hawks not only hold the active energy of those artful
hunters, but can also be used to identify diseases at skilled hands.

EAGLE
Eagle feathers are thought to be great energy bringers and remind us of the
basic sacredness of all birds . They represent peace and happiness and can
also drive away harmful energy.

Basically all feathers can be used for any spell, they can either attract or
repel energy. But their color gives them a specify energy which should be
chosen in accordance to the wished outcome of the spell. Naturally colored
feathers are more powerful than chemically died ones. Often colored candles
are used in conjunction with feathers to give additional strength to the
spell.

corners of the cloth together and tie with ribbon or string. Tie 2

House Protection Spell Bottle

Filed under: Charms and Talismans, Kitchen Witch — Loki @ 5:25 am

House Protection Spell Bottle

Since the earliest spell bottles were created for protection, it seems
fitting to begin
with one made for this purpose. Ideally, such a bottle will be walled up in
a new home
under construction, or placed under the floorboards. If this is impossible,
simply
place it in a position of importance somewhere in the home.

Items needed:
1 glass jar with cork stopper or lid (a small canning jar is fine)
1/2 to 1 cup salt (depending on size of the jar)
3 cloves garlic
9 bay leaves
7 TBS dried basil
4 TBS dill seeds
1 TBS sage
1 TBS anise
1 TBS black pepper
1 TBS fennel
1 bowl
In the morning, ideally on a bright and sunny day, assemble all items.
Place the salt into the bowl and say:
Salt that protects, protect my home and all within it.
Add the cloves of garlic to the bowl and say:
Garlic that protects, protect my home and all within it.
Crumble the bay leaves, place in the bowl and say:
Bay that protects, protect my home and all within it.
Add the basil and say:
Basil that protects, protect my home and all within it.
Add dill and say:
Dill that protects, protect my home and all within it.
Add the sage and say:
Sage that protects, protect my home and all within it.
Add the anise and say:
Anise that protects, protect my home and all within it.
Add the pepper and say:
Pepper that protects, protect my home and all within it.
Add the fennel and say:
Fennel that protects, protect my home and all within it.
Mix together the herbs and the salt with your hands. Through the movement of
your hands
and fingers, lend energy to the potent protective items. Visualize your home
as a
shining, safe, guarded, secure place of sanctuary. Pour the mixture into the
jar. Seal
tightly and place in your home with the following words:
Salt and herbs, nine times nine
Guard now this home of mine.
It is done.

Protection Charm

Filed under: Charms and Talismans, Kitchen Witch — Loki @ 12:05 pm

Protection Charm

Tools:
One red candle + one white candle
A small piece of white paper
Oil
Ink pen
Red Ribbon
Set the white candle alight on the left to represent the Goddess and a red candle to the right to represent the God. Place the materials for the spell between the two candles.
Using the oil, with your right index finger, draw a pentacle (star inside a circle) in the middle of the white paper, while saying, “With the seal of this pentagram I request that this charm be used for protection.” [Editor's note: a pentagram seal may also be used.]
Using a pen, in the center of the oil-drawn pentagram, draw your own special symbol for protection.
Say, “With this rune, I request that this charm be used for protection.”
When you are ready, roll the paper up with the red ribbon tightly lengthwise.
Hold the charm over the red candle and say,
I consecrate myself in fire
so that I can defend myself
and protect myself with the power I have.
Continue doing this with the smoke of the white candle, but consecrate it in the name of air.
Hold the charm with both hands. Concentrate on the charm’s task. Then seal the left end of the charm with white wax, the right with red wax. The charm is now complete.
How to make the oil yourself:
1 T base oil
4 drops primrose
4 drops lavender
2 drops sandalwood
Of course, you can always use whatever you feel will do the job.

A protective egg Charm
Take an egg and, by poking small holes at each end of it, empty it out. Fill the egg with Cinquefoil leaf and Dogwood, then tape the holes shut. You can decorate the egg with Runes or symbols of protection, or you can leave it natural. Your home and property will be protected.
